Hi, I'm Sarah.
I'm a shift-worker. I operate in a state of perpetual sleep deficiency, but it does wonders for my imagination. At least I hope it's my imagination. Otherwise, I'm screwed.
I'm not a nurse, a doctor, or a paramedic. My career is one not typically associated with shift work. I work in IT, fixing and maintaining computer systems. There is also speculation I may be the highest paid roster clerk in the southern hemisphere, but that's another story. I often find myself drifting into delusions relating to the existence of worlds and characters in my head; whether that's a side effect of the role, or the sleep deprivation, I'm not sure. All I know is it's a condition from which there is no peace in my head. Ever.
I like to write mostly Young Adult in flavours that escape realism; like fantasy, science fiction, supernatural / paranormal, dystopian, apocalyptic, and post-apocalyptic. Anything falling under the umbrella of Speculative Fiction. I write to give the delusions a home not inside my head.
Oh, I live in Australia. Which is neither here, nor there. Especially on the internet.
When I'm not writing or working, I'm spending time with my family and trying to find fun things to do. I'll try almost anything once, and if I like it, I'll keep going back for more. This is how I discovered my love of snowboarding, BMX, and mountain biking. If you know of other fun things I should try, hit me up on social media!
