NYC Midnight Flash Fiction 2022 Round 1

For this I had 48 hours to write a story in the mystery genre, set in a post office, and it had to include the object 'A child's drawing', with a word limit of 1000 words. My story is called Smashing Delivery. A delivery truck smashes through the front of a post office, killing a man. Police hope a child’s drawing can provide clues about who the killer is.

NYC Midnight 100 Word Micro Fiction Challenge 2022

Earlier this year I entered in a 100 word micro fiction challenge. For something to do. To challenge myself. 100 words is tricky, but it's also fun. I missed out on making it into the second round of the competition by 1 place, but I got some great feedback from the judges. They liked my story but I have to work on removing any ambiguity in meaning when there is only 100 words. Maybe next time I'll nudge over into the second round.

Short Stories of Forest and Fantasy

Short Stories are a funny beast. When submitting to anthologies, there are normally specific requirements for stories to be accepted in the anthology. This is what binds them together into a cohesive collection of stories. When submitting for the fantasy anthology, the requirement was that we had to reference a forest and it had to be adult fantasy. I knew straight away the story I was going to write.
